founder of the SJmade blog and brand.
I started this blog in May of 2014 to share my passion for stitching. I am not much of a writer, so there have been times when the blog would go months without an entry. My creativity however, did not take a break! For a very long time, I have kept my creations for myself and on rare occasions for my friends. Over time I have realised though, that my creations are out weighing my needs. Hence, SJmade now includes an online store. This is purely a wonderful side effect of my creativity.
Creativity has always been a part of who I am. My family is full of builders, seamstresses and writers. Most of my childhood was spent next to a sewing machine and these memories are as warm as the wooden fire-stove my mother uses to cook rotis to this day.
My degrees are in Pacific Literature, Geography, and Climate Change. I spend my days at The University of the South Pacific where I coordinate research skill development across all major programmes. I enjoy my job, the company of my colleagues, and taking strolls across our wondrous green campus. So I am not looking to quit my job and become a full-time blogger and creator at SJmade. This will be what it is as long as it gives me happiness.
